At least seven people were killed on Tuesday during an Israeli military raid and airstrikes on the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian health ministry said.
Five of the seven people were killed in two separate Israeli attacks in and near the city of Qabatiya, while the two others were killed in the Tammoun area, the ministry said.
The Israeli military claimed its aircraft had targeted a group of gunmen and that its forces had arrested 60 militants.
The Islamic Jihad’s armed wing, Al-Quds Brigades, said its fighters had clashed with Israeli forces in both Qabatiya and the Tammoun areas.
An Al Araby TV cameraman was reportedly wounded by Israeli gunfire in Qabatiya.
Governor of the nearby city of Tubas, whose jurisdiction includes Tammoun, confirmed two people had been killed there too.
“There is a martyr from the air strike whose body is torn to pieces,” Ahmad Assad told AFP. Videos of the man’s body were shared on social media.
Another 15 Palestinians were also arrested in different parts of the West Bank by Israeli forces, including one injured person and a minor.
Violence in the West Bank, particularly in the northern areas of the territory, has soared since the war in Gaza broke out on October 7 last year.

Palestinian retaliatory attacks on Israelis have killed at least 24 people in the same period in the West Bank, according to official Israeli figures.
