World Jewish Congress Reacts to U.S. Strikes on Iranian Nuclear Program

NEW YORK – Following a U.S. operation targeting Iran’s underground nuclear facilities, Ambassador Ronald S. Lauder, President of the World Jewish Congress (WJC), issued the following statement:

“A nuclear Iran would pose a grave threat to Western civilization and global security. It is my hope that today’s historic operation by the United States has brought an end to the Islamic Republic’s nuclear ambitions once and for all.

“I applaud President Trump and his administration for having the courage to act decisively, and for lending critical American support to Israel’s effort to build a safer and more stable Middle East. By halting Iran’s march toward the bomb, the United States and Israel have taken a meaningful step toward securing peace.

“Over the past year, Israel has dismantled Iran’s once-vast proxy network and reshaped the regional security landscape. Now, with the nuclear threat off the table, people from Tel Aviv to Tehran can begin to imagine a safer and more hopeful future.”
