World Jewish Relief is fundraising to support those affected by ongoing conflict and crisis in Israel and Ukraine in a two-day matched appeal on 6th and 7th July.
Monies raised through the UK Jewish charity’s ‘Communities Under Fire’ campaign will provide emotional first aid and trauma support for Israelis affected by recent attacks, helping them process grief, fear, and stress; offer mental health hotlines, trauma-informed training, and support for first responders and social services; support Ukrainian families by repairing homes and infrastructure, replacing shattered windows, and restoring stability to their lives.
Organisation chief executive Paul Anticoni said: “As Israelis and Ukrainians endure devastating attacks and displacement, our shared values of compassion and solidarity are more important than ever. This campaign is a call for us all to stand together, supporting those who are under fire today, so they can rebuild hope and resilience for tomorrow.”
The charity said: “In recent weeks, the world has watched helplessly as missiles and drones continue to rain down on Kyiv and Tel Aviv — cities scarred by war, homes destroyed, lives upended. Israelis and Ukrainians are united by their shared experience of conflict, with both facing the devastating consequences of war, displacement, and uncertainty. World Jewish Relief is proud to serve both communities, providing emergency aid and long-term support to those most in need.”
