The Israeli army announced it has conducted drone strikes in Lebanon as the army continues to blow up residential homes in the south amid a ceasefire.
The strike, which the army said was carried out on Saturday close to the Israeli-occupied Shebaa Farms, killed three people, according to the Times of Israel.
The military added that prior to that strike, a drone targeted what it said were Hezbollah operatives leaving a building.
Israeli strikes were also reported on Friday, with Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) reporting that six people were killed and two wounded in strikes on a car and van in the town of Tayr Debba close to Tyre.
As well as repeated Israeli strikes, which come amid a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah following a two-month-war between the two, the NNA reported Israeli activity across south Lebanon on Sunday.
This includes the blowing up of several homes in the border town of Aita al-Shaab which has been hit hard during the war and the tit-for-tat clashes between the two that began in October 2023.
NNA also reported tank shelling and heavy machine gun fire on the town. Machine guns were also reported to have been fired at houses in Maroun al-Ras, while houses were also bombed in Dhaira.
The 60-day ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah is set to end on 26 January, with the Lebanese army continuing to deploy south of the Litani river.
The Israeli army is also set to withdraw from south Lebanon by that date, although the Israeli government is reported to have told the US that they could stay for longer if the Lebanese army does not deploy to the area quickly enough.
On Saturday, the Lebanese army announced it was deploying to the towns and villages of Naqoura, Alma ash-Shab, Dhayra, Aitaroun, Bint Jbeil, Tayr Harfa, Majdal Zoun, Salhani and Qouzah following the withdrawal of Israeli forces.
