The Deputy Speaker of Israel’s parliament (Knesset) called for executing all Palestinian men in Gaza on Sunday, as well as the destruction of Jenin in the occupied West Bank.
Nissim Vaturi, a member of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party, called for separating the women and children in Gaza and executing the men.
“Who is innocent in Gaza? Civilians went out and slaughtered people in cold blood,” Vaturi told ultra-Orthodox radio station Kol BaRama. “We need to separate the children and women and kill the adults in Gaza, we are being too considerate.”
The Israeli lawmaker said that “no one in the world wants the civilians in Gaza, everyone is pushing them into Israel, they know that these are scum and subhumans”.
Vaturi also called for the widescale destruction of Jenin, which is currently under a brutal Israeli military siege, with tanks being sent into the West Bank city and refugee camp on Monday.
“We will soon turn Jenin into Gaza,” he said, adding that the Palestinian captives released under the Gaza ceasefire deal should be sent there so they can be “eliminated” by Israeli forces.
“Erase Jenin. Don’t start looking for the terrorists … if there’s a terrorist in a house, take it out.”
This is not the first time that Vaturi has incited genocide against Palestinians and other victims of Israeli aggression.
In 2024, he publicly said that the Israeli army was being “too lenient” in its war on Gaza and that Israel should simply “burn Gaza”. After being told his rhetoric could be used as evidence of Israeli genocide in South Africa’s case against the country at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), Vatury doubled down.
“I don’t regret anything I said,” he said. “It’s better to burn, bring down buildings than for our soldiers to be harmed.”
In September of 2024, Vaturi also said that South Beirut will “look like Gaza” and called Israelis protesting against Benjamin Netanyahu a “branch of Hamas”.
