It was i24NEWS that started spreading the lie of “40 beheaded babies” to justify the genocide in Gaza.
The ranks of i24 are reportedly filled by former veterans of israeli occupational forces (IOF) and maintain a revolving door with israeli military and government. i24 personnel also concurrently work with lobby and media groups int eh “west” such as AIPAC and Deutsche Welle.
The CRTC must remove i24NEWS from its approved distribution list and Rogers/Shaw must remove it from their “Free Previews.”
A complaint has been filed with the CRTC, and we invite you to join in sending your own complaint directly.
Write to the CRTC and Rogers to express your immense concern regarding the inclusion of i24NEWS in all Rogers TV subscriptions.
Canadians should not be forced to subscribe to Israeli/Zionist propaganda. However, it has come to light that Anthem Sports & Entertainment Corp successfully sponsored i24NEWS to be distributed in Canada. Now Rogers includes i24NEWS, an Israeli/Zionist ‘news’ station that platforms anti-Palestinian racism and support for genocide, as a Free Preview for all TV customers.
The problem? i24NEWS ‘reports’ inaccurate, false, misleading, biased ‘news.’ i24 is infamous for spreading the blatantly false claim that ’40 babies were beheaded’ on October 7th. They have also claimed that Palestinian prisoners being released as part of the ceasefire agreement are “convicted terrorists with buckets of Israeli blood…Israeli, American, and French blood on their hands,” the criminal pager attacks in Lebanon targeted “2,500 Hezbollah members” despite evidence of mass civilian harm, and perpetuated the justification for the destruction of healthcare infrastructure on the basis of false information.
Call on the CRTC to take action to:
1. Remove i24NEWS from the list of non-Canadian programming services and stations authorized for distribution.
2. Penalize and/or otherwise take action against Anthem for providing false information on their sponsorship application (namely, stating that i24NEWS broadcasts “quality, unbiased, reliable reports to the world accompanied by a wide range of viewpoints, analysis and opinions”).
Demand that Rogers and all other Canadian distributors take action to:
1. Stop distribution of i24NEWS (including through Rogers’ free previews).
2. End all agreements with i24NEWS/Anthem.
3. Commit to ethical journalism practices that prioritize accuracy, fairness, and the safety of journalists in Gaza and the West Bank.
