Israel drops leaflets threatening Gazans to ‘leave or die’

Israel has sparked global outrage after dropping leaflets over the besieged Gaza Strip, warning Palestinians to either cooperate with its forces or face forced displacement or eradication.

The messages, written in Arabic, carried explicit threats, including the chilling statement: “The world map will not change if all the people of Gaza cease to exist.”

The move, condemned as a psychological warfare tactic, has intensified concerns over Israel’s military campaign in Gaza, with many seeing the leaflets as an open admission of ethnic cleansing.

The threats also reference a so-called “Trump plan”, aligning with recent remarks by US President Donald Trump. who suggested the mass expulsion of Gaza’s population to neighbouring countries.

The posters featured images of Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is facing accusations of war crimes and crimes against humanity and wanted by the ICC.

The messages stated that Palestinians were abandoned by the world, including their Arab allies, who supposedly provide Israel with “money and weapons while sending [Palestinians] only shrouds”.

“To the honourable people of Gaza, after the events that have taken place, the temporary ceasefire, and before the implementation of Trump’s mandatory plan—which will impose forced displacement upon you whether you accept it or not – we have decided to make one final appeal to those who wish to receive aid in exchange for cooperating with us,” the leaflet read.

“The world map will not change if all the people of Gaza cease to exist. No one will feel for you, and no one will ask about you. You have been left alone to face your inevitable fate. Iran cannot even protect itself, let alone protect you, and you have seen with your own eyes what has happened.

“Neither America nor Europe cares about Gaza in any way. Even your Arab countries, which are now our allies, provide us with money and weapons while sending you only shrouds.

“There is little time left—the game is almost over. Whoever wishes to save themselves before it is too late, we are here, remaining until the end of time.”

This reference to the so-called ‘Trump plan‘ aligns with recent condemned statements made by the US president, in which he proposed expelling Gaza’s population to neighbouring countries such as Egypt and Jordan.

The idea of forced resettlement was met with widespread international outrage, as it constitutes a violation of international law and recalls the historic mass expulsions of Palestinians during the Nakba in 1948.

Israel has repeatedly dropped leaflets over Gaza after it cut telecommunications cables in the enclave.

In recent months, these messages have become increasingly aggressive, with earlier leaflets depicting Palestinian families sitting atop rubble while mocking the concept of “resistance victory”.

However, the latest messages have drawn particular outrage for their direct threats of genocide and forced displacement.

“The leaflet dropped over Gaza is an explicit form of psychological warfare, aimed at instilling fear, despair, and submission among Palestinians,” journalist Hala Jaber commented on social media platform X.

She argued that the leaflets signal a clear intent to violate the Fourth Geneva Convention, which prohibits collective punishment, forced displacement, and psychological warfare against civilians.

It comes as US officials gathered at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), where Vice President JD Vance insisted Washington should take over Gaza and relocate its population.
