Israel’s ‘greatest’ trick in Lebanon was pretending it wasn’t at war

Israel’s war on Lebanon officially began on September 30 and ended on November 27. But that didn’t stop the death and destruction on the ground, both before and after those dates. Since the ceasefire brokered by Hezbollah and Israel, at least 85 Lebanese have been killed, and several Lebanese villages have been wiped out. It raises the question: when does a war truly begin?
