Three months after their engagement was publicly announced, Netflix stars Dounia Al Ibrahim and Chafic Yactine from the Middle Eastern spinoff of Love is Blind are now at the centre of rumours surrounding a possible breakup.
Speculation has emerged online, suggesting that the youngest couple of Love is Blind Habibi may have parted ways.
While neither Dounia nor Chafic have confirmed or addressed these rumours on their social media accounts, fans have shared their concerns after noticing a few telling signs across their platforms.
Over the past few weeks, fans observed that the couple had been interacting less on social media, leading many to believe they might have split.
The speculation grew after Dounia posted a birthday message on Instagram last weekend, sharing a series of photos from her birthday photoshoot.
However, fans were quick to notice that Chafic had not publicly acknowledged her special day, remaining silent during the occasion.
Adding to the speculation, fans pointed out that Dounia was not wearing her engagement ring in the photos.
One fan commented on the post, “And why don’t I see @chafic_yo giving a birthday shoutout to the wifey?”
Another remarked, “Why aren’t they wearing their engagement rings in any of the videos they’ve recently posted?” Another user noted, “They’re not commenting on each other like they used to.”
The last joint interaction between the pair on Instagram was in early January, which led fans to believe that something might have changed in the past two weeks.
Despite these signs, the couple still follows each other on Instagram.
Just a few months ago, before the rumours began swirling, Dounia and Chafic shared their proposal video on Instagram, surprising their followers.
In the reunion episode of Love is Blind Habibi, the couple had already publicly declared their relationship status.
Dounia later revealed on Instagram that the proposal had been a complete surprise to her.
“I wanted to talk to everyone about the beautiful surprise Chafic did for me,” Dounia shared in an Instagram story. She went on to describe the proposal, saying it was entirely unexpected but deeply heartfelt.
Dounia recalled, “Mr Chafic told me we’d be having lunch and the dress code was all white. When we arrived, and got closer, he pulled out a bandana and put it over my eyes. I wasn’t expecting anything at all.”
Filmed in Dubai, Love is Blind Habibi saw two couples emerge strong in its first season: Safa and Mohammed and Dounia and Chafic.
While Safa and Mohammed married during the filming of the show, Dounia and Chafic chose to stay engaged and take their relationship at a slower pace.
