Mia Khalifa slams Gal Gadot; Yellowjackets star backs Gaza

Lebanese-American former adult film actress Mia Khalifa has criticised Israeli actress Gal Gadot on social media for claiming she is “indigenous” to Israel.

In an Instagram post, Khalifa posted a picture of Gadot, who is currently promoting the film Snow White in which she plays the role of the Evil Queen, with the caption, “Gal Gadot claims she is indigenous to Israel, a US-backed colony established in 1948.”

Khalifa, who garners millions of followers on her social media platforms, has gained attention in recent years after she waded into politics and social issues, particularly relating to Palestine.

She has expressed strong opposition to Israel’s war on Gaza, earning her the ire of supporters of the Jewish state and plaudits among pro-Palestinian activists.

Conversely, Gadot, who served in the Israeli military, has been strongly supportive of Israel since it began its mass murderous assault on Gaza in October, 2023.

As Israel began a war that has killed over 61,000 Palestinians, most of whom are innocent civilians, the Wonder Woman star proudly proclaimed that she “stands with Israel”.

The Israeli’s role as the Evil Queen in Disney’s $300 million Snow White has been marred with controversy due to her alleged clash with co-star Rachel Zegler, who plays the titular character and has openly supported the plight of Palestinians during the war on Gaza.

Israel’s war on Gaza has split celebrities, though most have remained quiet on the subject.

However, this week, Sophie Thatcher, star of Showtime’s hit thriller TV series Yellowjackets, shared an Instagram post highlighting Israel’s recent atrocities in Gaza.

The 24-year-old American took to Instagram where she shared a post that read: “The IOF [Israeli Occupation Forces] bombed tents in Mawasi area of Khan Younis, homes in Gaza City … a school … and much more.”

“This killed over 360 people so far, and injured over 500 people!”

Thatcher was referring to a brutal wave of Israeli strikes on Gaza unleashed on 18 March, ending the ceasefire and massacring at least 590 people and wounding over 1000 more.
