DENVER – Amid escalating challenges to Jewish life, particularly in the wake of heightened antisemitism since October 7th, the World Jewish Congress (WJC) convened a pivotal panel discussion, “Navigating Contemporary Jewish Challenges: Strategies for Communities Worldwide,” at the 2024 Jewish National Fund (JNF) Global Conference in Denver.
Moderated by Sara Friedman, Chief Marketing Officer of the WJC, the panel brought together Maya Cimeša Samokovlija, Executive Director of Community Relations at the WJC; Carolina Aisen, Director of the Spanish Jewish Community; and Irina Shlick, Director of the JCC in Tallinn, Estonia.
The panel addressed the pressing issues facing Jewish communities of all sizes. Discussions centered on practical strategies for combating antisemitism, fostering collaboration, and sustaining Jewish identity within diverse cultural contexts. Panelists emphasized the importance of leveraging shared knowledge and expertise to enhance community resilience and unity.
